Im sending? you PM. Comment box too short for my answer…
In short, use the tool you are more comfortable with. Plain HTML/CSS is fine (fast and secure). WordPress is great for blogging and regular sites. Drupal is great for everything (Sure some say is more difficult to learn, but once you get how it works you can create websites in few hours). Just stay out of Joomla! ๐
P.S. I have a 5 years proffesional expirience with Joomla and i would choose Drupal over Joomla anytime!

I’m building a simple site, it won’t require any php and so far I’ve done it without using any cms, just in Sublime and other text editors. What I don’t get yet is how using a cms helps. Would it be stupid of me not to use one?
And why are you switching from Joomla? (I suppose you would recommend WordPress to? me?) It isn’t really a blog site though.

At the end of the day the best CMS to use is the one you are most comfortable with. If you are a complete beginner, you can get up and running with WP faster than any other. If you are going to do this yourself it won’t be easy no matter what CMS you use. First do some google searches for “musician wordpress theme” and try? and find a good theme. If you find it too difficult or want more customization then hire a developer.

Thanks for clearing the E-commerce confusion up for me. I want to use WP to sell my music and videos. Would you say this? is the best CMS for doing this type of site or is there another that’s better for a musicians website? Thanks in advance!!
