This tutorial will show you how to create a nice looking photo gallery in your WordPress website. We are using the FancyBox image plugin to display our photos. You can download FancyBox from the WordPress.org Plugins site. To edit or add Alternative text and Titles at 6:46 you will see the “Show” link to the right. Click the Show link to open the options for each image. You will see the Alt and Title fields there. Always make sure you have the latest version of WordPress installed or updated. Thanks? for the tutorial. How can I create a gallery from existing images in the Media Library?
December 12th, 2012 at 12:48 pm
Thank very very much for this video! I initially had a go with NextGen gallery plug in but was struggling? to expand the images, I switched to FancyBox and now my gallery is perfect. Your video is very complete and to the point, thank you so much for that. AND I just found a great Pinterest for galleries plug in that works perfectly with FancyBox as it install a small pin it button under each thumbnail, how great is that?! All thanks to your video – as I didn’t know Fancybox before- thanks!

Hi Rachel, you might be using a later version of WordPress so the icon is just a single image with a camera and a music note (a staff) behind. Or, if you have javascript turned off you may not see the icons at all. Try refreshing the Post page when you are logged in. If? all those ideas fail I’m as lost as you are!

Hi GmaGoldie, you can add the Title Tags and Alternative text to your images in the Media Library. It’s always a good idea to do this when you upload the images. Youa can also go back to the gallery from the? edit Gallery indicator in your edit text area. Open the gallery editor and in the list of images update the Title and Alt fields. 🙂

I just added this to my playlist of Best WordPress videos to help? myself and my readers.
May I ask a question? How do you add the tags and alternative text to the images?
