CodeConquestDotCom — thanks for your thoughtful response!? We’re trying to make web design and web development less intimidating for beginners, creating a curriculum that can take people from knowing nothing to job-ready. My assumption is that the setup of building a website for a ‘weird’ client seems childish to you, but our hope is that it gets people thinking about how little their clients might know about the web products that a freelancer might have to create for them.

Hey ilabstudios, we want to connect with you about our reasons for creating the WordPress video in the way that we did:
First off, we’re sorry if this video came across to you as condescending. We’ve worked really hard to try and avoid it, but if that’s the case, that’s probably because you’re very familiar with building WordPress sites. With this approach, we’re trying to make content that makes building a website easy? and approachable, even for someone who has never made a website.

I noticed that too. Treehouse seems to have such a childish feel to it now, and if you go back and watch the older videos, you’ll see that it wasn’t always like that. I wonder why they decided to make the? shift. That said, I’m sure a lot of thought went into the shift and they wouldn’t have done it if they weren’t certain that the majority of customers would appreciate it.

I would be very interested to see a poll of how many users appreciate the (unfunny) humour and those that want to see it scrapped.
1) I hate being? talked to as if I was a child!
2) There’s no need for humour, it wastes a lot of time and is unnecessary. Want to make your videos more engaging? Be yourself!
