WordPress Contact Form Plugin: Top 5 Plugins Compared

July 16th, 2015 by admin

If you’re looking for a way to add a WordPress contact form to your website, this article will help you accomplish that while we compare the top 5 WordPress Contact form Plugins on the market today.

You’ve setup your business website and need a way for your visitors to get in touch with you. Creating a Contact Us page is a great way to do that.

The easiest way to add the contact form to your site is by using a Contact Form plugin specifically designed to email you with the user entered details.

Here are our top 5 contact form plugins:

1. Gravity Forms

Gravity Forms is what we use on our theme demos like our Accountancy theme. We love it for it’s versatility. You can use it as a contact form for your site, but you can also extend the functionality easily using the plugin. With Gravity Forms, you can create surveys, order forms, intake forms for new clients, and more.

They have a beginner friendly drag and drop functionality so you can design the form to look exactly how you want it. When you’re ready to add more features to your site, you can choose from the many addons to allow features like payment processing, coupons, or anything else you can think of for your site.

Gravity Forms is a premium plugin, meaning you have to pay to use it, but it also comes with Premium support so you have access to help when you need it.

2. Ninja Forms

Ninja forms is another premium plugin that you can use to add a contact form to your website. The base plugin is free to use so that might be a good alternative for you. Use the free basic while you get your site off the ground and then when you’re ready to add features to your site, then you can can purchase the addons separately.

Like Gravity forms, you can add things like surveys and order forms to your site with the addons.

There is also a great deal of documentation and a community support forum to help set it up on your site. If you upgrade to the premium addons, you’ll also have premium support if you run into any problems.

3. Contact Form 7

Contact form 7 is probably the oldest and most popular contact form. This is a no frills plugin and handles the contact form on your site. If you are only looking to get a contact form up and running quickly, this plugin will handle that for you.

Just note that any of the extended functionality we’ve talked about does not come with this plugin. There are third party plugins that act as addons, but trying to maintain multiple plugins for a contact form can get a little clunky .

The other thing to keep in mind is that Contact Form 7 isn’t as user friendly for true WordPress beginners so just be patient and read the documentation on hot to set it up.

4. Formidable Pro

Formidable Pro is another free basic plugin with paid premium features. It’s easy to set up and lets you get a contact form on your site quickly. When you’re ready for more features on your site you can just buy the addons you need.

Formidable Pro is a newer plugin on the scene and has fewer addons available than Gravity Forms or Ninja Forms, so if you’re looking to do a lot with your site, you might want to consider using those instead.

5. Fast Secure Contact Form

Fast Secure Contact Form

Fast Secure Contact Form is another completely free contact form to use on your site.  It allows you to quickly setup an easy contact form. Like Contact Form 7, extending it’s functionality beyond a simple contact form is difficult so consider only using as a contact form.

Which WordPress Contact Form Plugin Should You Use?

It really depends on your goals. If you are just starting out and only want a simple contact form, then use the Contact Form 7 or Fast Secure Contact Form.

But if you know you’ll need to add other functionality down the road, then investing in something like Gravity Forms would be your best bet since it can do so much and is about the same price as when you buy the addon features for Ninja Forms.

Hopefully this article helps you decide which WordPress contact form plugin to go with.
