LibSyn is? the better value as they offer more storage for lower prices.
Blubrry is easier because you can manage it all from within your WordPress site.
You could host your media with your web host, but they won’t like that in the long term, especially if your content gets popular.

Daniel – Thanks for this podcast. Very informative. However, there was one ting you touched on, briefly, that I didn’t fully understand. (Actually, more than one thing I didn’t understand! lol)?
When I have the podcast recorded, I can store it on libsyn, but you mentioned you stored yours directly on your wordpress site. To my limited understanding, I can pay blubrry to host my podcast, or I can pay libsyn to host my podcast. Is this understanding correct? Which is better value? Thanks

Yes, Archive.org if you want to host away? from your own website hosting and don’t want to pay for media hosting. But the problem with Archive.org is that you can’t replace or remove anything on it, and downloads are extremely slow.

Another website host very popular with? podcasters and free is archive.org. We use it for our french mac podcast (macquebec) since many yeras. We also use podtrac so when you paste the media url, you add the part from podtrac in the beginning of the url for stats. (Podtrac is a statistic website if you want the number of downloads of your episodes of your podcast).

Thank you!
If you’re hosting your media with Blubrry, then you can upload your MP3s directly into PowerPress with each post. But if you don’t have a media host, then? I recommend LibSyn (use promo code “noodle” for your first month free). LibSyn would give you the media URL that you can paste into PowerPress widget.
On some website hosts, they may allow you to host your media files (MP3s) with them, but they may not like this or they may even forbid it from their terms.

Wow Daniel, this was the most informative vid of any subject I ever had questions about. Spot on! I have a quick question. If I want to enter my media url from directly from blubrry is? that better than just dropping in an mp3 directly from my cpu? I hope I am making sense!

Hi, Kyle!
Yes, go to? TheAudacitytoPodcast . com / 69 and you’ll see some brief descriptions of how to get your podcast in iTunes. It’s really easy once you have the RSS feed from PowerPress.

Hi! Yes, .band is the wrong format. That’s your master project. The audio podcast needs to be an MP3. This is easy to make with GarageBand.
1. Go to the Share menu > Export Song to? Disk.
2. Checkmark “Compress.”
3. Compress using “MP3 Encoder”
4. Audio Settings “High Quality” or “Custom” and set bitrate to 64 kbps and channels mono.
This will create a compatible MP3 file that you’ll still need to add ID3 tags in iTunes and then upload to LibSyn’s dropbox.

thank you dude! really!? huges from brazil

One question, though! I’ve got my first podcast recorded (garageband), but I can’t figure out how to transfer the file through FTP into Libsyn… it just won’t transfer? into the podcasts dropbox. Is it because it is a .band file? Is there a way to convert it to something else (mp3, or whatever)?

This was a? great video, I am so very new to this and it helped make a lot of sense for power press. Have you done a video on uploading the podcasts? the player cut out at 41 mins while I was watching so I am not sure if you covered this. Thanks for doing this. I haven’t podcasted yet, .. again I am new, be gentle!
