Hey Michael this was my first weekend building and using WordPress? and like everything its been a learning curve but all in all I can see it as a great program. But as you semi cleared up for me is the fact that everypage I created has a blog on in. And since I am really new to blogs it was really messing me up why. So at least I have some direction to go now. I must ask though it just making a static page going to be the answer? I guess not or you would have said just do that. Well thanks

I have? created a lot of mobile friendly websites for my clients. Ive found that using WP to try and make a website is like using dancing to describe architecture, or using pointers? graphs? and pictures to convey philosophical concepts. It is that clear and logical, or better still telling someone thats born color blind to keep practicing on the colors they cant differentiate, theyll eventually “get it” it just takes time. The illogic of WPs dashboard to get a web page from it are two processes so foreign to each other it would drive a Vulcan mad.

Hmmm, why not just create a static page from within wordpress using the full-width template that most themes include and? set that as your homepage? Then you can make the page look how you want, but you can create it like any other page from within WordPress? Unless you just aren’t very comfortable creating full static pages from within wordpress.

Ive tried this and i get the home page to show as a template, but doesn’t seem to read? the html? Comes up a blank page. Is this video still valid?

When you see a word Template, you think “reuse” but this is… just a static page. There are millions of videos on Youtube, it is important to find what you’re looking for.
It’s a useful and well put video, if that’s what you were looking for. But I just wasted 6:20 minutes watching something irrelevant to what I was searching.

Some themes come with “Home page template” in built. You have to choose that option that’s it.? Here is one example theme which I use comes with home page template
Search for “simplefolio” wordpress theme.

If the homepage.php? theme does NOT show up as a choice under the Template drop down…
What could be the cause?
