You’ll be happy that you did. Always feel free to ask? questions. I do my best to answer all of them

Sure does. I appreciate the quick reply. I had seen your localhost tutorial, but I already had xampp done. I’ll redo the localhost. Thanks. ?

I cover all of that? and much more. If you are on a mac look for Install WordPress on Localhost on my youtube channel. If you’re on a PC, it is best to install wubi and apache on it. Don’t use xampp. It is filled with conflicts. Then look at my WordPress theme tutorial playlist (On my YouTube Channel). I have over 80 wordpress development tutorials. I hope that helps

Of course, when I say live? I mean virtually live on my localhost. Great tutorial, btw. Only thing I would suggest is using your mouse as a pointer. Following you was kind of hard due to me losing my place in the code. Haven’t gotten to the next tutorial yet, so if I suggest something you already do, just ignore my ignorance. Thanks in advance.

I’m new to WordPress dev, and I’m following the PHP relatively well (though I am pretty new to that too), but how do you install this theme to the local host? I have installed Xampp,? installed WordPress, and am up and running. But a theme has many files, not just these 4. I tried copying twentyten, renaming the directory, and replacing files you provided. But of course it didn’t work (I didn’t really expect it to be that easy). I would like to have a “live” example while I learn this. How?

Thanks for all the video tutorials. Can I ask if you could please point to where you are talking about on the code? as this is all complicated and is hard to follow. Thanks.

WordPress acts as a middle man between your database and the site itself. The database holds all of your articles and pictures. A theme is just the site itself. It uses code to ask wordpress for the images and articles, which wordpress grabs and throws them on the web? page. Does that make sense?

Feel free to ask questions. The tutorial gets much more interactive at part 4. I’m? just trying to explain everything you could want to know
October 4th, 2012 at 11:36 am
exactly. A lot of talking, no showing. They should forget the tech bullshit and say ” Place pic here” or whatever, without the tech? explanations
