In this video tutorial I’ll show you how to make a WordPress Featured Content Plugin. The featured content plugin will however be designed so simply that anyone should be able to easily style it however they like. In this part of the tutorial I’ll specifically cover the html and cascading style sheet code that is required. That’s not a silly question at all. I obviously also know how to program using php. I could make a cms from scratch. The? benefit is similar to why someone would use a framework of any kind. You have access to a ton of prewritten code that has been tested by hundreds of people. I mainly use wordpress for security reasons though. There are some great security plugins that you can just plugin and never worry about. Using WP doesn’t hamper my creativity though

this might be a silly question, however thats never stopped me in the past. heres the question I learnt php a few years ago. I stopped coding for a while and now I’m back again, I keep hearing about wordpress.? As I write php myself, is there any benefit to me using wordpress, I mean can I do anythong with it that I wouldn’t be able to code myself from scratch.

That’s funny 🙂 I know I talk kind of funny. Pittsburgh accents are kind of legendary in the US. Thankfully mine isn’t as extreme as many of my neighbors. My tutorials have been? getting more complicated. It’s nice to know they are being watched by someone. I know most of the views this tutorial got came from people looking at my channel while I took a break recently.

Okay. One More Thing. What About The Footer? Oh And You Know The Content Area Where You Put Your Post At? Im Having? Problems with that also the sidebar.

The banner is a very simple flash movie. I did tutorials on Flash in the past. The sidebar is just that graphic set as the background of a div. I’ll be making more complicated themes very soon. I can’t use? any pictures of celebrities in them, but you’ll be able to make this easily if you follow the tutorials.
