How to install WordPress on Lion Mac OS and MAMP server, basically you can install a blog in your computer using local webserver (locally) and play around with it without paying webserver cost. Disadvantage: Only you can see this blog, and not others. More discussion: www.blog.web6.org

BTW – There was one small mistake in your explanation that might cause many newbies (like myself 🙂 some problems. That is: When you give the localhost URL, you? say to type a semi-colon – right after the word ‘localhost’ I believe – but it is actually a colon that you used. Understandably, this will cause the site to not work properly. Perhaps an annotation would cover the mistake? Cheers!
