The Outreach theme has some great content widgets on the home page that let you, quite easily, add content, images, text, alignment, and some options for what to show. The WP Cycle slider on the home page is simple, but also simple to manage. Pages, posts, categories, tags, and images are all briefly covered in this video.

I can’t tell you how beneficial this tutorial is to me! I just started my website designing with WP and I had no idea what Widgets were!!? Thank so so much!!!
Question;- is it possible to create a page with featured image and content, only to have it visible in the widget and not in the navigational menu?!

Thanks for this tutorial it helps a lot. How? did you change the logo on top where it says “portfolio of passions”? is there a way to change this to what I want?
